I’ve been meaning to write or call all week to let you know how much we all enjoyed our dinner for Miles and Carlee at your place. Everything was so nice! The food was absolutely delicious, service extra nice, and the table arrangements with all the black and table ware really set the dinner scene. Thank you so much for all you did to make the evening go well. I had many compliments from guests who said it was some of the best food they had ever had at a catered dinner. Your bartender was so pleasant to work with as well and he seemed as though he was having a nice evening too, which makes the guests have fun too. Many thanks for all you did. Thank you so much for helping us with Mason's Piano Recital! Everyone was in awe with all the wonderfully delicious food and desserts you made. Not only did everything taste fabulous, it was all so beautiful!

Chris was dreaming about the desserts you made. He kept asking me if I tried the toffee bar. He said it was just so, “mmmm good, perfect!” (With a hand thrown kiss) He loved everything and was going on about how well everything tasted together.

You have such a talent at putting everything together so well. Everything you presented was very pleasing to the eye and then the taste! Wow, amazing!!!

This was my first treat to your wonderful food and let me tell you, it was indeed a treat!!!

Dear Patty:

I know that you neither expect nor require thanks for all the extraordinary work that you do for the Bar Association and Foundation, which is a good thing because I can't even begin to thank you. You regularly and impeccably take on the challenge of feeding and "beveraging" dozens of stressed-out, busy, and occasionally antagonistic professionals, most of whom have extremely high standards. If I had to take on the culinary demands of Bar Association members, I believe I would have to resign. I just don't think I could take it.

Please know how much your skill, hard work, and creativity are appreciated. I am frequently too rattled to mention it, but your work is always extraordinary. And again, although I don't always get a chance to tell you that in person, it might interest you to know that in the five or six years in which we have been working together, I have not had a single complaint about the food brought to my attention. Of course, there are the frequent raves about the food, which is far more encouraging to think about. However, for me, the fact that I have not had to think about, deal with, or fix the food arrangements in any way for months and months and years has been extraordinarily important. It allows me to focus on the things that I do best and leave those details in your competent hands.

Thank you for everything. Thank you for this evening. With this letter is a signed copy of Mr. Ashcroft's book as a small token of my thanks.
